These are a few of my favourite sites. There is a preview of what each site entails and I want to send my love to each person on my list. Enjoy!

BRAVENEWCODE
“BraveNewCode is a small independent web design / development company that earns it’s bread serving buttered up web projects. It’s a two-man show here, but coffee and dedication make it seem like there’s a thousand monkeys on a thousand typewriters with us.”
~Dale Mugford, Lead Developer

MATTHEWGOOD.ORG
One of my all time favourite musicians. Avalanche is my favourite song (and album) of all time and it found me during a time in my life where I wanted to end it. His blog has been a catalyst for truth in a time where the lies and truth have become indistinguishable.

SERENA RYDER
Serena Ryder is one of my new favorite musicians. Serena is just 23. But her voice, a deep, bluesy, soulful instrument that has drawn comparisons to Janis Joplin and Aretha Franklin, makes her sound much older. She is young female Canadian from Ontario and a wonderful singer/songwriter to listen too!

THE DUANE STOREY
If you look up ‘nice guy’ in the dictionary, you will find a picture of Duane. I met him through Dale and their web fiascos. Duane has been writing on various blogs for over five years now, but has been peddling his opinions on the internet for far longer than that. His blog is funny, insightful and always honest.

KNOT JUST DREADS
Karen Wallington is the amazingly talented women that created my beautiful locs. Karen works in Toronto and is a wise and wonderfully creative women. Her kind and welcoming words made me feel at ease during this highly transformative time. If your looking for dreadlocsks, Karen?s are the only hands to trust!

VEGANCOWGIRL
The blog of an old and dear friend Lyndsay. She is a beautiful, fantastic, kick ass, rockin’ feminist vegan who is still near and dear to my heart. Her blog captures the humourous and sometimes frustrating experience of being a (feminist) vegan in Calgary, Alberta.

ANGUS ADVENTURES
The home to Colin Angus. The first individual to complete a human powered circumnavigation of the globe. I got hooked on his book “Beyond the Horizon” and was forced to order all of the other books and dvd’s. Don’t say I didn’t warn you! The site offers updates on his (and his wife Julie’s) expeditions around the globe, adventure tips and green living.

DOOCE
The blog of Heather B. Armstrong. She has written extensively and humorously of her struggle with depression, pregnancy, parenthood, poop, boobs, her dog, skin cancer and ‘Mormonism’. Armstrong ignited a fierce debate about privacy issues when she was fired from her job as a web designer and graphic artist because she had written satirical accounts of her experiences on her weblog.

SAVIS
The Sexual Assault & Violence Intervention Services of Halton is a non-profit feminist grassroots organization that supports survivors of sexual assault. I have worked on SAVIS? 24 Hour Crisis Line for three years. The women at SAVIS inspire me to work for change daily.

MARGINAL NOTES
Website of Polly Jones. Her message: politics are personal. She is courageous and inspires strength with her story. A quote: ?I think one of the most important and difficult challenges in life is to find, and own, one’s voice. I suppose a blog is part of the process for me?.

POST SECRET
A gallery of postcard-sized images posted anonymously to unveil a secret. Shared confessions in art form.

CODEPINK | WOMEN FOR PEACE
A women-initiated grassroots peace and social justice movement working to end the war in Iraq. With an emphasis on joy and humor, CODEPINK women seek to activate, amplify and inspire a community of peacemakers through a commitment to non-violence.

TIM COPE JOURNEYS
Author of “Off The Rails”, a book detailing his his 10,000km, 14 month journey across Russia, Siberia, Mongolia and China. An Aussie explorer and a fine author. The book got me hooked and again, I had to order the rest and devour them in single sittings.

KNOTTY BOY
Knotty Boy creates the best dread products yet! They are Canadian and operate from Vancouver, B.C. Their products are all natural and have been amazing for my dreads. Their site has tons of dread info., products, dread accessories and most importantly, photos!
